Extract PNG frames: questions & tips
Will each PNG show the complete GIF frame?
Yes. Each PNG shows the complete frame as it appears during playback, with transparency preserved. Some GIFs store only the area that changes between frames; the extractor combines those updates for you.
Are crop and caption edits included?
Yes. PNG downloads use your current crop, output dimensions, rotation, and caption. To extract unedited frames, leave those controls unchanged.
Which format should I choose?
- WebM
- Video with transparency for players and browsers that support it. Enable looping in your player.
- GIF
- Widely compatible and loops automatically; usually larger files.
- MP4
- Widely supported video. Transparent areas become black; looping is a player setting.
- APNG
- Full color with smooth transparency; often a larger file.
