What does the speed multiplier change?
2× halves frame delays and makes the animation about twice as fast. 0.5× doubles delays. Very short delays are limited to 20 ms, so extremely fast settings may reach that limit.
Is speed the same as frame rate?
No. Speed changes how long the animation takes to play. The GIF export frame rate controls how many frames are kept per second while preserving the overall duration. Lowering it can reduce file size but make motion less smooth.
Which format should I choose?
- WebM
- Video with transparency for players and browsers that support it. Enable looping in your player.
- GIF
- Widely compatible and loops automatically; usually larger files.
- MP4
- Widely supported video. Transparent areas become black; looping is a player setting.
- APNG
- Full color with smooth transparency; often a larger file.
